D Signature Packs Anger, Heartbreak and a Party Into the Volume Buck EP

The London Artist Also Known as Million Miles Self-Crafted Every Part of the Release

Volume Buck does not settle on one mood, and that is deliberate. D Signature built the EP to swing from heartbreak and anger to an outright party record. Moreover, it never pretends those belong to different people. Released on 14 August 2026, it fuses Alternative R&B with Dancehall, and the London artist made every part of it himself.

D Signature is in the playlist below, and the coverage that sits behind it is collected on the artist’s own profile page. The Volume Buck EP came to this site via PopHits.Co Music Charts, the certification programme that verifies independent artists and places their releases across its network of music news desks. Queue it up, then carry on.

D Signature Moves From Heartbreak To Dancefloor Without Flinching

Most short-form releases pick a lane. Usually an EP is where an artist proves they have one identifiable sound, sustained across four or five tracks. However, Volume Buck refuses that logic entirely.

Instead, the record covers anger, heartbreak and celebration in turn. Notably, it never uses a skit or an interlude to soften the joins. Anyone who has been through a bad month knows those states do not queue politely. As a result, putting them side by side is a more honest structure than the smooth arc most releases reach for.

Davion Gowie, the artist behind D Signature, has explained the intent directly. “Creating Volume Buck was a deeply personal process, allowing me to pour a wide array of feelings into every track,” he said. “I wanted to craft an experience that truly reflects the highs and lows of life, from intense emotions to the pure joy of a party.”

Furthermore, the self-crafted part is worth pausing on. Every element of the EP was made by the artist. For an independent release, that means writing, production and arrangement all sit with one person. Usually that shows up as a narrower sound. Here, by contrast, it shows up as the opposite, because nobody was there to talk him out of the swerves.

Alternative R&B and Dancehall Meet in a London Studio Built by One Person

The fusion at the centre of Volume Buck is not a novelty. In fact, Alternative R&B and Dancehall have traded ideas for years, and London is one of the places where that exchange happens most naturally.

What distinguishes this record is the ratio. D Signature does not lay a dancehall rhythm under an R&B vocal and call it a blend. Instead, he lets each mode take the lead in turn. Accordingly, the heartbreak material leans into the alternative R&B side, with space, restraint and a vocal that sits close and unhurried. Meanwhile, the party material hands the floor to the rhythm and gets out of the way.

His back catalogue supports the approach. Earlier work runs through Contemporary R&B, Hip-Hop, Rap and Reggae, and the range is documented rather than claimed. RapStar News covered Landslide as dancehall-tinged soul. Similarly, IndieMusic.News reviewed Miles, a 23-track dancehall and reggae album. SLASH Music has written about the Jah Protection video, and also about the single Chances.

Consequently, the shifts on Volume Buck sound practised rather than experimental. He has been working across these genres for years.

Reference Points for Volume Buck, From Frank Ocean To Modern Dancehall

Three names help place the EP without flattening it.

First, Frank Ocean set the template for R&B that treats vulnerability as structural rather than decorative. His tracks wander when the writing calls for it. Likewise, the heartbreak passages here share that instinct, although D Signature keeps his songs tighter.

Second, Koffee rebuilt expectations around modern dancehall. She proved the genre could carry warmth and lift without diluting its rhythmic identity. Similarly, the party half of Volume Buck works in that register.

Third, Popcaan is the most useful on delivery. His records show how much weight a dancehall vocal carries when it stays conversational. Therefore he is a fair comparison for how D Signature handles his own transitions.

Nevertheless, none of this is imitation. It is simply the neighbourhood the EP lives in.

AfroMusic.News curator team: “What earns Volume Buck a place on our list is that the party tracks are not a release valve. They carry the same writing standard as the heartbreak ones. That is rare when an artist tries to cover this much ground in a single EP.”

Where To Hear Volume Buck and Follow D Signature Across Streaming Platforms
